Fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, hiking, and skiing are all within about a one hour drive from Vaughn, providing a variety of recreational pursuits and interests.

The Great Falls Area boasts a wide variety of convenient shopping centers, ample medical professionals and medical centers, the Charles M. Russell Museum and several art and antique galleries, a symphony orchestra and choirs, golf courses, the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, and a variety of other recreational facilities, all nestled around the beautiful Missouri River.

Educational institutions located in Great Falls include the Montana State University Great Falls College, the University of Providence, and Troy State University at Malmstrom Air Force Base.

Vaughn School is currently operating over 130 computers in classrooms, all of which are networked by recently purchased fiber optics.  With One laptop per student in grades one through eight, OneNote interactive boards, Pearson on-line curriculum, document cameras, and phones in every classroom, the District is committed to offering our children the opportunity to leap into the 21st Century well prepared.

The Vaughn School District is a PreK-8 System with over 150 terrific kids. The staff includes 1 administrator, 14 teachers and 10 support staff, governed by a Board of five trustees.

The District offers a wide variety of programs at the academic and athletic level.  Programs include Band, Choir, Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Wrestling and Track, with an emphasis on providing the best developmental offerings possible.  The academic attitude and all-around readiness of the students is reflected in their academic success.  We house the AltaCare program, which is a Comprehensive School and Community Treatment program and it is staffed by two therapists who work closely with our staff.  We also host a HeadStart Preschool Program and a free after-school program titled WATCH (Wildcats Are Taken Care of Here).
